What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a dynamic medicine capable of creating beneficial change for people. The effect of good acupuncture is to do more than just relieve physical symptoms. Its greatest strength is that it treats each patient individually, with the focus on them, not their illness. No two people are the same, so a personalised treatment plan is devised.

Anna combines probably the two most popular forms of traditional acupuncture, which are TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and Five Element. She also uses techniques such as moxibustion, electro-acupuncture, cupping and guasha.

TCM has been practiced for over 2,000 years and is an ancient healing system that can treat a wide range of physical, mental and emotional symptoms.

The Five Element form focuses mainly on treating the underlying spirit or essence of the person. This can bring about profound changes in a person's sense of wellbeing, restoring harmony and balance in the body.

How does it Work?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of energy. These points lie on a network of energy channels.

Energy can become compromised or blocked for a number of lifestyle and environmental reasons, which can result in symptoms of pain and illness.

The needles are used to release these blocks and stimulate the flow of energy so that the body can initiate its own healing, bringing the body and mind back to health.

WHY CHOOSE ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture is widely used and valued all over the world.

This ancient treatment recognises that to treat a person's health you have to look at their physical, mental and spiritual state to fully understand and treat the illness. The emphasis is on treating the root of the problem and all factors that contribute to the illness rather than the isolated treatment of specific symptoms. For this reason, treatment is considered to benefit a broad range of conditions, acute and chronic.
